About VADO
With over 34 years' experience in taps and showers, VADO are experts when it comes bathrooms.
Specifying taps and showers for prestigious homes, hotels, landmarks and luxury yachts, VADO prioritise superior performance in everything they do.
And that includes sustainability. They strive to provide solutions for preserving water and protecting our environment, while conducting business in the same manner.
The Challenge
With numerous locations, facilities, and forms of employee transport, VADO needed technical help identifying, collecting and analysing the relevant data for a scope 1, 2 and (partial) 3 carbon footprint.
In addition, with a strong reputation in the industry, VADO needed expertise when it came to sourcing high-quality carbon credits to offset company emissions that cannot currently be reduced.
The Solution
THG Eco presented VADO with the following solutions to their goals and challenges:
- Calculation of scope 1, 2 and (partial) 3 emissions.
- Evaluation of carbon footprint against PAS 2026 standard.
- Identification of emission hotspots and a reduction strategy.
- Sourcing of high-quality carbon credits for carbon offsetting purposes.
The Journey
Not only were THG Eco very cost competitive compared to other partners, we found them to be primarily motivated by sharing their own experiences and educating other organisations based on them.
Everyone we dealt with was highly knowledgeable and the reports we received were of a high standard. It was great working with THG Eco.
The Results
The carbon footprint calculation identified a footprint of 247tCO2e.
THG Eco were able to source high-quality carbon credits from a project in Mexico, that distributed energy-efficient light bulbs to 5.7 million households, to offset those emissions.
Finally, THG Eco completed the PAS 2060 certification for VADO following their purchase of carbon credits.
In Vado's Words...
Our objective was gaining PAS 2060 status. We had done a lot of work over the past few years to reduce our emissions and to quantify them. However, we wanted to gain the proper certifications so we could share our achievements with our various stakeholders in a manner that they would have confidence in.
In comparison to the other potential partners that we looked at, we were really impressed with THG Eco’s honesty and with the quality of the advice they offered. In a relatively new industry that is significantly growing in both size and importance, it is easy for organisations to risk selecting the wrong services and solutions for their situation and can also end up overpaying for them. Not only were THG Eco very cost competitive compared to other partners that we considered, we found them to be primarily motivated by sharing their own experiences and educating other organisations based on them.
It was great working with THG Eco. The level of service was excellent with emails responded to in a timely manner, and it was always easy to arrange a Teams meeting if we ever wanted to discuss something in more detail. We were never made to feel we were wasting anyone’s time and were encouraged to ask any questions we had. Everyone we dealt with was highly knowledgeable and the reports we received were of a high standard.
